Dick and Heather Brecht are the proud owners behind The Ice Cream Caboose, The Frosty Cow, and The Frosty Caboose. As dedicated educators—Dick teaches elementary school and Heather is a high school English teacher—they’ve spent their careers bringing joy and encouragement to young people. That same passion for connection is what led them to the world of ice cream.
Their journey began in 2011 when they purchased The Ice Cream Caboose from Bill and Joan Higgins, becoming the fourth owners of the beloved local landmark. In 2018, they expanded their ice cream dream by purchasing The Frosty Cow, which had been originally established in 2009. In 2022, they proudly opened a new location of The Frosty Caboose, continuing their mission to create a space where people of all ages can gather, laugh, and make memories.
For Dick and Heather, this business is about more than sweet treats—it’s about building community. Whether it's serving cones to excited kids, catching up with longtime customers, or supporting local events, they’re always looking for ways to spread a little joy and bring people together.
